These devices can drive four N-channel MOSFETs and support voltage rectification from DC to 600 Hz (typical). By maximising the available voltage and reducing power consumption (see thermal imaging comparison), this ideal diode bridge controller simplifies power supply design and reduces power supply costs, particularly in low-voltage applications.

The LT4320 ideal diode bridge also eliminates thermal design issues and the need for expensive heat sinks, whilst significantly reducing PCB footprint. The LT4320’s internal charge pump enables an all-NMOS design, thereby eliminating the need for bulkier and more expensive PMOS switches. In the event of a power supply failure or short circuit, the device shuts down rapidly to minimise reverse current transients.
