TI digital isolators are built on proprietary silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulated gate technology. Their core function is to enable the electrically isolated transmission of digital signals, effectively separating high- and low-voltage domains, interference sources and sensitive circuits within a system to prevent interference and crosstalk, whilst ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment. They are the preferred choice for digital signal isolation in industrial and automotive applications.

 

Their core technical advantages are particularly notable: in terms of isolation performance, they support isolation ratings of up to 5.7 kVrms, meeting both basic and reinforced isolation requirements. They also feature excellent common-mode transient immunity (CMTI), effectively resisting high-frequency interference in industrial environments and automotive electronics to ensure signal transmission integrity; In terms of power consumption and efficiency, the current per channel is as low as 4.2 µA, with power consumption significantly lower than that of traditional isolation solutions. Taking the TI ISOM871x series optocoupler simulators as an example, this series comprises two models: the ISOM8710 (CMOS-compatible output) and the ISOM8711 (open-collector output). They are housed in a compact SOIC-5 package, with an isolation rating of up to 3750 V rms and a surge withstand capability of up to 10 kV. They have obtained multiple safety certifications, including UL 1577, VDE, and IEC 62368-1. Typical applications include motor drivers, I/O modules for industrial controllers, and factory automation equipment; they can directly replace traditional optocouplers to achieve a seamless upgrade in system performance.
